I have been raising chickens for the majority of my life and to be honest when I was a kid I couldn't have cared less. I thought they were noisy and annoying, and getting chased down by a rooster every other day was not on the highlight reel. But over time I grew to appreciate the freedoms having chickens gave us as a family.  Fresh eggs every morning, an alarm from that rooster, though maybe a little inconsistent, and a sense of purpose.  Without me, those chickens could never have been able to make it a week. I believe as a kid it was one of the most essential lessons I learned is that my actions, big or small, impacted the lives of those around me.  I made it my business to know and learn as much as I could to benefit those interested in the same passion as me!
